earning numerous degrees and certifications...

I had a lot of un-learning to do.

As a former corporate executive in leadership, learning, and organization design, I know firsthand that most well-intended coaches and consultants offer an outdated approach to development. (I did, unintentionally).

Traditional training is useful and necessary for building skills like adopting new software.

BUT... Traditional training does not develop human creativity, motivation, or agency. These need to be awakened through a structured educational process.

During Talent Review and Succession Planning meetings, I grew disheartened to see that many of my HR processes (that I learned from authors and expert consulting firms) created more 'buzz & fizz' activity than game-changing effects.

Yet after experiencing a DEVELOPMENTAL approach, I could not UNSEE what I learned.

As leaders, coaches, and HR professionals, we were offering expert-led 360-feedback, best practices, and bolt-on trainings.

But actually, we were OUTSOURCING the development of our beloved people. Why? Because we had not evolved our own thinking.

The competencies changed over the years, but the outdated "expert-model" paradigm did not.

The New Economy calls for an anti-hero approach that develops higher-order thinking, on-demand discernment, and complexity-fitness skills.
